Horror stars Within

What do Candyman, Leatherface, Damien, Malachai, and a possessed Regan MacNeil have in common? Well, they’re ALL set for roles in the forthcoming satanic slasher SHADOWS WITHIN. That’s right! Tony Todd (CANDYMAN), Gunnar Hansen (THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE), Harvey Stephens (THE OMEN), Courtney Gains (CHILDREN OF THE CORN), and Eileen Dietz (THE EXORCIST—she was Linda Blair’s monstrous stunt double) will all be working together for the first time! Not as their frightening alter egos, of course (but can you imagine!). However not every role has been clearly defined.

As for now, all we know is that Todd will be playing “Detective Lyons”, and Hansen has initially agreed to play the “Prison Warden”. I can’t help but fondly envision what it would be like having Leatherface as the warden of a prison. Instead of being put “in the hole” for bad behavior, perhaps the prisoners would have to “face the saw”. The food would probably be an acquired taste too.

Anyways, take a stab at the plot: The town of Whitchurch thought a spate of satanic murders ended when Detective Lyons killed the evil Samuel in a police raid. However, several years later the body count is once again beginning to rise.

SHADOWS WITHIN is looking to start filming in the spring of 2009 in Nova Scotia with director Stephen Evans calling the shots. If more roles get announced, I’ll let you know.
