Universal’s Last Call

Flicks based on graphic novels are becoming a top commodity right behind remakes these days. Hey, if they’re making money, why stop right?

With that mindset comes the latest news from Variety today. Universal just picked up rights to THE LAST CALL from Oni Press.

THE LAST CALL comes from Vasilis Lolos and is about two teens on a joyride who get hit by a train — an interdimensional soul carrier — and find themselves on a quest to solve a mystery that will allow them to return to their regular lives.

Hopefully we get something dark here. THE BOX screenwriter Evan Spiliotopoulos is set to pen the script while Barry Josephson and Eric Gitter produce.
