Alien Supermarket

I’ve gotta say, it is only within our beloved genre where a film can change its title from SUPERMARKET to ALIEN RAIDERS and most likely get away with it. That’s the unusual case for this upcoming flick directed by Ben Rock. Clearly it takes place in a supermarket of some sort, however beyond that, anything goes. Take a moment to shop through the plot:

Benny Hughes (Jeff Licon) and Whitney Steadman (Samantha Streets) are closing up at their small rural grocery store for the night, when suddenly they find themselves in the middle of a hostage situation with a motley crew of armed intruders helmed by a man named Ritter (Carlos Bernard) . As hostages start dying, and dead bodies pile up in every aisle, the captives fight for their very survival… but they’ll soon find that they face an enemy far more powerful, and strange, than they could ever imagine.

I’m guessing the grocery store gets some out-of-this-world customers that want more than just milk and eggs. And that sounds fine to me! I’m a big fan of flicks with ridiculous premises that occur in everyday settings. I hope ALIEN RAIDERS is able to deliver the canned goods!

The script (which was originally titled INHUMAN) is by Julia Fair from a story by David Simkins (DARK ANGEL). In addition to the actors mentioned above, the flick also stars Courtney Ford, Rockmond Dunbar, Tom Kiesche, Joel McCrary, Bryan Krasner, Bonita Friedericy, and Derek Basco. RAIDERS is currently in postproduction and looking to release on DVD some time this year. I’ll be keeping my eyes open.

Wasn’t she on DARK ANGEL?
