The guys over at Dread Central gave us all a heads up today on a pretty interesting movie.

Truth be told, it’s goofy, cheesy, and from the looks of it.. poorly done. But damn it, it caught my attention and held on, so why not share it with you guys?

CineTelFilms have this flick coming out called HYDRA, which according to Dread Central, will be hitting the Sci-Fi Channel soon (though no date has been announced.)

HYDRA is directed by Andrew Prendergast and… you guessed it, deals with the Greek mythological creature. Here’s the full synopsis from CineTelFilms:

Jack Stone believes Ghost Island to be mystical, holding secrets of a mythical treasure from long ago. What he doesn’t know is that the island holds a darker secret…protecting the ancient treasure is the mythical Hydra, the multi-headed serpent from ancient Greek lore. While they search for the treasure, Jack and his crew are about to discover this ancient creature and find themselves trapped on the island with only one way off.

Cheesy right? But a good cheesy.. now if your eyebrows are arched in interest, head over here to check out the trailer. Just click in HYDRA then scope out the trailer. A bit weird how the trailer points out a big ‘human hunting human’ angle in the plot but the synopsis doesn’t mention it at all.

Low-budget Sci-Fi movie cliche aside… HYDRA looks fun. We’ll keep a lookout for that airdate and update you all when we hear it.
