Guys love action flicks. That’s a fairly easy assumption to make. Espcially cheesy-esque action flicks that don’t try to hard… but end up being awesome. POINT BREAK is a great example.

So when word hit The Hollywood Reporter today on the fact that a POINT BREAK sequel is in the making, I felt a need to share it with all of you.

Apparently Jan de Bont is set to direct POINT BREAK: INDO. It’s coming from the same guy who wrote the first film, W. Peter Iliff. All we know plotwise is that INDO will take place 20 years after the disappearance of one of the criminal surfers (Patrick Swayze).

The original came from director Kathryn Bigelow and starred Swayze, Keanu Reeves, Gary Busey, Lori Petty, and John C. McGinley.

Some of De Bont’s previous work include: SPEED, SPEED 2, THE HAUNTING, TWISTER, and TOMB RAIDER 2. I can definately see him doing a decent job. Question is… will any cast be returning? We’ll definately be keeping an eye on that. POINT BREAK: INDO will shoot in Singapore and Southeast Asia. It has RGM Entertainment and Essential Entertainment executive producing.
