There’s nothing like a good revenge genre flick to get the blood pumping (literally and figuratively). With that said, I’ve got some news on a forthing coming “vengeance-seeker” that looks to stand out amongst the crowd with a truly original premise. It’s called BURNING INSIDE and comes to us from scripter Nathan Wrann (HUNTING SEASON) and Elmar Berger (100 TEARS—see our review here.). You can check out a couple pics from the flick above, below, and at Fango. I’m really liking the new twist it gives to our beloved revenge genre. Check it out in the synopsis:
John Doe awakens from a coma to find that he has no memory of his life, who he was or the vicious beating that put him there. He embarks on a life of normalcy—taking a wife, starting a family, mowing the lawn. This Norman Rockwell world is soon torn from him as he is driven to get revenge. Revenge for a life he doesn’t remember. Revenge for pain lost to amnesia. Revenge for what he believes to be true. John Doe seeks out those who hurt them, and makes them pay. Or does he? Such is the tragic Möbius strip of vengeance. There is no beginning, there is no end—there is only the eternal inferno of violence, love and sorrow.
The dude wants revenge, but he has amnesia!!! I am f*cking intrigued and more than willing to find out how his vengeance is sought! BURNING INSIDE stars Wrann’s brother Michael Wrann (who co-starred in HUNTING SEASON) as John Doe, with Will Cole and Frankie Troweridge co-starring. Brian Spears (SHADOW: DEAD RIOT) will be dishing out the makeup FX. The flick is currently filming, but a release date has yet to be revealed. I’ll keep you guys posted… unless I develop amnesia (dumb joke, cue groans from the audience).
