We last told you about THE MESSENGERS 2 here, where Ammon dropped the word that Martin Barnewitz will be directing.
The synopsis for this prequel reads: John Rollins struggles to save his farm and hold his family together. After placing a mysterious scarecrow in his field his luck seems to change for the better, but in return may cost his sanity.
Well Cinemablend dropped some info on this prequel today… and it’s pretty interesting. They scored some pages from the script and give us an idea of what to expect… and it seems if it’s done right, we may be in for a gem.
Hear me out. Apparently the script really centers on John Rollins’ downward spiral into insanity instead of all that supernatural stuff. They mention a similarity to THE SHINING and mention how there’s some intense stuff in the script. It will more than likely get cut down if they’re aiming for a PG-13 rating, and if recent showings are any indication, they will be.
