Reddick not Toolbox

My apologies for some false info regarding my recent article on TOOLBOX MURDERS 2. Apparently Fango received the wrong information regarding Jeffrey Reddick penning the project. The scripter (above on the DAY OF THE DEAD set) got in touch with Fango to help correct the error. “I’m not writing that film,” he said. “I met with Tony Didio, one of the producers, about a year and a half ago and discussed the project with him and Dean Jones. I had some ideas on how to do a sequel, if the rights were free and clear. But it was my understanding that the producers, whom Tony sold the rights to, were working with [previous TOOLBOX scripters] Jace Anderson and Adam Gierasch on the new movie. Anyway, nothing real came of those initial meetings, and I haven’t spoken to Tony Didio since then. I don’t know the status of the project, but I’m not writing it.”

There—An explanation crisp and clear. And lookee what we have here! Through the error on TOOLBOX, a new piece of correct info was attained through Reddick. Fango got the scoop on what he was currently working on: his directorial debut! ”We’re close to signing a deal with a film fund to finance my directorial debut FINAL CUT this summer,” he said. “It’s an original script and I’ve been keeping the concept under wraps, but after the TOOLBOX snafu, I feel I should give you all something juicy. The story is about a disgraced horror film director who discovers a twisted, supernatural way to bring people’s darkest fears to life. He goes back to his hometown with vendettas against several residents, and uses his newfound abilities to terrorize them in an effort to create ‘true horror’ in the real world, just as he tried to on film.”

Now THAT sounds sweet! (Unless it’s all just bullshit, but I HIGHLY doubt it!) I’ll be sure to keep my eyes and ears open for more on FINAL CUT as bodies, I mean details, surface.
