All has been quiet on the FEAST 2 front ever since Eric last reported on it here. Fortunately, now we finally have some news oozing forth in the form of a set report and some pics courtesy of Fango. Here’s what we know:
The sequel returns basically the entire core of FEAST’s original creators from director, John Gulager (above), to writers, Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, to creature FX men, Gary Tunnicliffe and Glenn Hetrick of Optic Nerve. It always spells sweet news to me whenever ALL of the creative team returns because it shows that they care about their “deformed” baby and don’t want anyone else f*cking with it. This usually equates to a quality second offering.
And in this particular instance, it may even bring forth a quality third offering because the bulk of FEAST 2: SLOPPY SECONDS was filmed concurrently with FEAST 3 in Shreveport, LA last year! Gulager and his team are currently focusing on pickup shots, greenscreen and wirework in and around Los Angeles for the second in the trilogy.
The plot of FEAST 2 picks up directly following the final moments of the original, with the surprisingly alive Bartender (Clu Gulager) being rescued by Biker Queen (Diane Goldner), who’s none too pleased that her twin sister Harley Mama was made into an IED in the first film. Harassed by the oversexed and impressively endowed monsters, the pair takes refuge in a nearby town, and thus become part of the ragtag ensemble at the center of the story.
Fango got to lay their eyes on a couple of edited scenes during their visit and promises that audiences will get black comedy, subversive violence, diminutive luchadores, more monsters, plenty of T&A and copious and repeated dousing with humanoid body fluids. Sounds like a horror homerun to me!
Other returning members from part one include Ms. Honey Pie herself, Jenny Wade (below), as well as “beer guy” Judah Friedlander. New fresh meat in the cast includes Tom Gulager (the director’s bro), Carl Anthony Payne, Hanna (NIGHTMARE MAN) Putnam, William Prael, 2006 LAST COMIC STANDING winner Josh Blue, Chelsea Richards, Melissa Reed, Martin Klebba, and Mexican wrestler Juan Longoria Garcia. No release dates have been announced yet for FEAST 2 or 3, but I’m sure they’ll be coming soon.
