Outlandish character-actor, Sam Rockwell (THE GREEN MILE, the upcoming CHOKE), has just finished shooting on a new sci-fi thriller simply called MOON. The flick revolves around Mr. Rockwell being stranded on a moon base, but he’s… wait for it… NOT ALONE! Dun-Dun-Da!!!
What a shocking twist! So, who or what exactly is he “Not Alone” with? Moon Men? Star Monsters? Big-Breasted Space Babes with a penchant for pole polishing? Who knows?! I guess we’ll all just have to wait and see on that one. However, I will say this: if you’re going to make a movie about a man stranded all alone, Sam Rockwell is your man! The guy garners so much charisma and raw ability that he’s always able to invoke a commanding screen presence.
The “official” plot for MOON reads like this: Astronaut Sam Bell has a quintessentially personal encounter while stranded on the moon for a three-year period. The flick is helmed by Duncan Jones, making his feature directorial debut, and written by Nathan Parker. MOON blasts off into UK theaters on May 25, 2009. No word yet on a US release.
