Over the past month we’ve been keeping you updated with the casting for THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT remake. First Ammon reported on Garret Dillahunt, Rhys Coiro, Martha MacIsaac, and Riki Lindhome all signing up. Not long after that he dropped the news that hottie Sara Paxton had joined the flick.
Well Variety have news on a couple more names joining the remake. Monica Potter and Tony Goldwyn are the latest names to join the cast. Potter (below) only has a couple genre credits to her name, those being SAW and ALONG CAME A SPIDER. Goldwyn also only has a couple genre notches on his belt, more notably his first acting role was actually in FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 6: JASON LIVES, which was actually a pretty decent sequel.
The original LAST HOUSE was a twisted flick that left me feeling all dirty and disgusted.. which is exactly what it was aiming for I think. It was the first thing brought to us from the genious mind of Wes Craven.
THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT remake looks stacked and ready to roll. Marianne Maddalena, Sean Cunningham, and Craven will be producing with Dennis Iliadis directing a script from the trio of Mark Haslett, Carl Ellsworth and Adam Alleca. Shooting is slated to start this month in South Africa.
