When FEAST busted out on the scene a couple years ago, I think everyone was pleasantly surprised that it rocked as a good-time monster movie, and quickly escalated up ‘cult status’ pole after it hit DVD.
FEAST writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton have been busy ever since, busting out the script for SAW IV, and vigorously working on the script for this year’s SAW V.
So where will they go from there? According to STYD, the writing duo has just been snagged by The Weinstein Company to pen the script for the HELLRAISER remake!
Now that the writer’s strike is over, TWC has been able to find writers for the remake, which is currently slated for a January 9th release date. Here it is, February, and no script, and they want to shoot for January? Good luck…
Not sure what this means for the remake. On one hand, FEAST rocked… on the other hand, SAW IV didn’t (though it could’ve been a lot worse). It’s unknown how much Clive Barker will be involved with the writing process, so whether it’ll stick with the original story, or more along the lines of Barker’s movie version is aslo unknown at this point.
