Apparently America Ferrera (below) is really good in that show UGLY BETTY. I haven’t seen it so I wouldn’t know. Regardless, Ferrera stars and executive produces the Spanish thriller HACIA LA OSCURIDAD (TOWARDS DARKNESS).

News coming in from Variety has Peace Arch Entertainment picking up the rights to TOWARDS DARKNESS. The flick deals with 90 minutes in a kidnapped hostage’s life, and the frustration his family, a special ops team, and a man in charge of delivering the ransom money all feel as they rush to save him.

Sounds like this one could be pretty intense. It’s written and directed by José Antonio Negret and stars Ferrera, Tony Plana, Roberto Urbina, David Sutcliffe, William Atherton, Roberto Cano, Cameron Daddo, and Alejandra Borrero.
