West’s new Devil

One of the fresh faces in the genre is director Ti West – he busted on the scene with THE ROOST, then quickly followed it up with TRIGGER MAN, and the upcoming CABIN FEVER 2: SPRING FEVER. Today, Variety announced his latest directorial effort: THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL.

With a title like that, this flick could be about anything! Check it out: [THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL is a] tale of a babysitting job gone horribly awry. Ok, so it’s still ambiguous, but at least we’re going somewhere. A (presumably hot) chick babysits for the devil? I can dig it, yo!

Production is scheduled to begin next month in Connecticut. The big news around DEVIL is that producer duo Roger Kass and Josh Braun have jumped on board to produce the flick. The two are currently developing John Wagner’s graphic novel “Button Man,” and the last time we saw them they teamed together to executive produced David Cronenberg’s A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE.

Not that producers really mean shite when it comes to the film’s overall quality, but with backers like these, maybe this HOUSE is gearing up to be better than we thought.
