Now here’s some exciting news that will be sure to bring you out of your Monday blues. Sam Raimi’s next directorial effort will not be another SPIDER-MAN movie, but a full blown horror movie titled DRAG ME TO HELL! And if that wasn’t cool enough, he just nabbed HARD CANDY star and recent Oscar nominee Ellen Page in the title role!

First off, just what the hell is this DRAG ME TO HELL all about… it’s the first time I’ve heard of it! Check it: [HELL] is described as a morality tale about the unwitting recipient of a supernatural curse. Whatever that means…

Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures is (obviously) producing, along with his long-time collaborator Robert Tapert, from a scrip he wrote alongside his brother, Ivan Raimi.

Nice to see Raimi is finally back in the saddle of the genre, considering he hasn’t really been there since 2000, when he busted out with THE GIFT. HELL sounds a bit more on the darker horror side of things, but it still has this GIFT vibe to it, being a bit more ‘sophisticated’ than, say, his EVIL DEAD days. Which is a shame, as I think it’s about time he went back there…

Page will be starring as she with the supernatural curse… filming begins March 17th in Los Angeles – stick around for more casting news and filming updates for DRAG ME TO HELL as we hear it!
