There’s bad, and then there’s the POSSESSION poster. I don’t like bashing posters too often, mostly because a little voice inside my head is telling me that I probably couldn’t do better, and kicking me in the ass for not scoring a sweet job like making movie posters for a living. But in this case, I think I can honestly say that not only does this poster suck balls, but I’d be able to do a better job. Blindfolded.
For starters, what’s up with Sarah Michelle Gellar’s head being so big, yet faded away there in the background? Why the shit is Lee Pace getting any sort of top billing (never heard the name before in my life… I’m sure I’m not the only one)? And the tag line??? Love possesses us. You’ve got to be f*cking kidding me.
I’m reminded of the super low budget, straight to video soft-core melodrama’s that I used to rent when I was 12 in hopes of seeing some sex, but mostly being let down by one scene somewhere in the beginning, one scene in the end, and the whole middle filled with utter crap – but I was 12, so I was stoked. It looks exactly like one of those. And this thing is going theatrical? Ugh…
