Just a few days ago The Arrow dropped the news that another NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET might be in the cards. I’m talking another installment too, not a remake or versus movie.
After we all got excited at the idea of Freddy coming back to haunt our dreams in another fresh sequel, Fearnet has gone and cut up our hopes.
They recently scored an interview with Freddy himself Robert Englund, who had the following to say:
“I don’t know if it’s going to be Nightmare on Elm Street the original remake-which is not a bad idea especially with the success of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Halloween-and get some new director to breathe new life into it. I always thought there was room for a prequel”
He goes on and talks about those could-be projects a lot more. You can check that out over here. I’m sorry Robert, but a NIGHTMARE remake is far from a good idea. The original NIGHTMARE is still such a brilliant flick, even with today’s standards. Hard to beleive there’d be a NIGHTMARE film in the works without Englund in the know. Then again, who knows?
