We last heard from director Rob Cohen about a month ago as he wrapped production on THE MUMMY 3: TOMB OF THE DRAGON EMPEROR, which had been filming in China. Now back in L.A., Cohen is busy cutting the movie together… and blogging about it for the word to see!
There are thousands of cuts in a film and each cut represents a thousand considerations: go to Brendan who is speaking the line or to Maria who is reacting to it? Show the full scope of the set or build up a unique location in pieces? Actors are the main driving force of the edit and performance is the highest value.
So deep, yet… so true. Cohen also goes into his addiction with editing, as well as what new blog entries we can expect soon (footage from the wrap party in China), and what his next tasks are in the lengthy process of post production (he has more than 800 visual effects to work on… what fun!).
