Producer for TERMINATOR SALVATION: THE FUTURE BEGINS, James Middleton, had a chance to chat with Sci-Fi Wire over the weekend, dishes out a few new plot points for the fourth TERMINATOR, and while he basically echoes what we’ve heard before, there is some new light shed on the project that you just find interesting enough.
“It’s set after the events of [Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines], where we see the nuclear exchange at the end of the movie, and we show what the world is like after this event, and we show how people try to deal in a post-apocalyptic world. And we introduce a new character, who becomes very important to the resistance and to John Connor, a new hero. It’s really about the birth of a new hero.”
Birth of a new hero, eh? I can dig that – especially considering Governor Schwarzenegger will NOT be making a cameo appearance… as long as he’s governor – so we’ll need a new hero to root for, along with John Connor. But what about Reese? Why introduce a new hero, when Reese is there for the taking? There’s STILL no word on whether Michael Biehn will eventually be making an appearance… but we can hope!
Middleton also goes into more of Connor’s role in the new trilogy, and when, exactly, are McG and Co. looking to start filming (it’s closer than you might think). To check out the rest of the chat, go ahead and click HERE, and ponder just who this new hero is going to be.

Original TERMINATOR hottie, Linda Hamilton!
