Mitra in Doomsday

Director Neil Marshall has kicked ass in everything he’s done. From DOG SOLDIERS to THE DESCENT, the guy has directing skills to pay the bills and then some, which is why the upcoming DOOMSDAY has ‘awesome’ written all over it!

Universal released a few new images from DOOMSDAY today, featuring the lovely Rhona Mitra. Can’t complain there, she’s a flippin’ hottie! DOOMSDAY is what happens when authorities brutally quarantine a country as it succumbs to fear and chaos when a virus strikes. The literal walling-off works for three decades—until the dreaded Reaper virus violently resurfaces in a major city. An elite group of specialists, captained by Eden Sinclair (Rhona Mitra), is urgently dispatched into the still-quarantined country to retrieve a cure by any means necessary. Shut off from the rest of the world, the unit must battle through a landscape that has become a waking nightmare.

I smell a MAD MAX vibe going on here, which is just fine and dandy! A horrid future with Mitra in tow to save the day… doesn’t sound so horrid to me! Enjoy the new pics, and get ready for DOOMSDAY in theaters sometime in 2008 (release date soon to be announced).
