Everyone and their mother loved HATCHET… well.. if their mom’s dig old school hack and slash horror movies with gore, chicks, and a badass bad guy. It rocked The Arrow’s socks and I dug it pretty hard too. It was a nice refreshing breath of fresh air from the horror that’s being thrown at us nowadays.
If you didn’t get a chance to see HATCHET in it’s limited theatrical release, don’t worry, it’s hitting DVD shelves next week! If you can’t wait until then.. Fearnet has cut the first 7 minutes of the flick for your viewing pleasure! Check that out over here.
HATCHET was a huge success for writer/director Adam Green. The man just wanted to make a fun horror movie that we’ve been looking for, and he nailed it. Maybe I’m exaggerating a little, but HATCHET was definately a fun romp in the swamp.. that rhymes, unintentional. It’s got cameos by greats Robert Englund and Tony Todd, not to mention Kane Hodder plays the badass bad guy Victor Crowley. The film also stars Joel David Moore, Tamara Feldman, Deon Richmond, Mercedes McNab, Parry Shen, Joel Murray, and Joleigh Fioreavanti.
And just in case you didn’t know, there are plans for a HATCHET 2 in the works! I had the pleasure of chatting with Tony Todd at this year’s Rock & Shock, and his character, Reverend Zombie, will be returning in a greater capacity. Awesome.
So once again, head on over to Fearnet to check out the first 7 minutes of the flick and be sure to pick it up on DVD on December 18. It’ll make a great Christmas gift!
