The Hollywood Reporter announced this morning that the upcoming X-FILES 2 just scored three new cast members into the mix, and you’ll never guess who they are! I’ll give you a hint to one of them: he may end up pimping Mulder and Scully’s ride!

Holy crap that was lame. But it’s true: Xzibit has joined David Duchovny’s Mulder and Gillian Anderson’s Scully in the sequel, along with cutie Amanda Peet and old lookin’ hippie dude Billy Connolly. Peet and Xzibit are set to play fellow FBI agents, but as this thing is crazy super-secret, that’s about all the details we have on their involvement at this time.

Am I the only one surprised that they’re even doing another X-FILES? Is there that much of a demand to have one, or was Fox trying to think of a way to make more money without doing another remake of an 80s movie? Not to say I’m not stoked, I just don’t know if people will be THAT into so long after the show’s success.

Hopefully I’ll be proven wrong and it’ll be one of the biggest hits of the summer! Stick around for more casting news on X-FILES 2, and get ready to investigate more of the paranormal in theaters everywhere this July.
