A&D halted

A few weeks back we got word that Universal gave the green light to the Ron Howard directed sequel to THE DA VINCI CODE, known as ANGELS AND DEMONS. Today we’re learning that A&D is one of the first film affected by the writers strike, as production has been officially canceled until the strike is over.

Writer Akiva Goldsman was working on the script up until the strike, but did not have enough time to finish and polish it up. Production was set to begin this week… and now it’s postponed. Considering it’s based on the book by Dan Brown, you’d think they’d be able to just ‘wing it’, using whatever script they have now, and filling in the blanks from the book. But I guess that’s not how they want to roll with a big budget thriller starring Tom Hanks and his goofy hair.

How many more casualties will be affected by the strike? Hopefully just a bunch of crap will postponed, and all the good stuff will keep on rolling… to see what other high profile film has been set on the backburner, go ahead and click HERE.
