Wow, talk about a fast turn around! On Friday, Ryan Gosling dropped out of Peter Jackson’s adaptation of THE LOVELY BONES, and on Sunday, ‘Marky’ Mark Wahlberg read the script and signed on to take over Gosling’s spot!
According to Variety, Gosling split due to ‘creative differences’ – even after he gained 20 lbs and grew a beard for the role – but that’s about all that’s known at this point. Bummer, as Gosling is a good actor, but holy crap! Marky Mark! I’d say the trade was more than even.
Wahlberg is now set to play the father of the murdered girl (and husband to Rachel Weisz) in the flick, which was adapted to the big screen by Jackson himself. What’s even more exciting is that filming is set to begin today in Pennsylvania! Good thing Wahlberg had an opening in his schedule!
