REPULSION -December 4th

I’ve never heard of this flick before, so I look it up on IMBD, and this is what it told me: Left alone when her sister goes on vacation, a sexually repressed young beauty goes insane with surreal fantasies of seduction and rape. Holy crap! Why haven’t I seen this before??? While the DVD isn’t as pimped out as it probably could be, with a plot outline like that, what else do you really need?

HATCHET – December 18th

Victor Crowley is the new name in ‘high body count’ horror, and HATCHET is the new name for ‘modern day cult classic’. I may be the only one here, but I really (and I mean REALLY) dig this cover. Just an axe. No need to show off the unknown stars or that madman villain Mr. Crowley. Just an axe. With blood on it. Show an image like that, and you know what you’re in for. Awesome. My only disappointment with this release is that it’s not out this week, as it’d be the perfect ride for Halloween night. PS- the extras here rock!

Chick (practically) naked on the cover, plus a bloody axe here and there. What more could you ask for? I know nothing (and I mean nothing) about these flicks, and yet that doesn’t really matter, now does it? A double feature showcasing a sometimes naked chick who likes to hack people into pieces? I’m so there! Plus, dig this tagline from the first film: Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned… …who’s holding an axe! There’s so much truth to that, it’s not even funny.

THE STITCHER – October 16th

If you thought this was about a Grandma who works on stitching together quilts and doilies and ugly Christmas sweaters that no one enjoys wearing, you’re wrong. Although that would be kind of scary. This is actually about a dude who stitches people together. Didn’t see that coming, did ya? As low budget as they come, it’s actually been receiving some good word of mouth… so show it some love and give it a try!
