There’s something about international posters that propels them (for the most part) above those released domestically. Maybe it’s just because they’re different that makes them seem so much cooler, but whatever the case, they definitely are cooler more times than not, and the latest poster for Rob Zombie’s HALLOWEEN is no exception.
What makes the above poster work so well (for me, at least) is it’s simplicity. There’s not a billion images thrown together to make the Myer’s mask, nor are that a whole lotta words… just Michael Myers looking badass and holding a blood-drenched knife. Nice! See, that’s really all you need to show for a movie like this… nothing more, nothing less!
I also dig the use of the knife in the lettering of the tag line… another nice touch! I’d much rather have this poster hanging up in my house than domestic poster we were given (which you can check out below for your own comparing pleasure). Of course, the domestic poster didn’t hurt HALLOWEEN’s supreme domination over the box office, as it racked in more moola than most (if not all) the other entries in the HALLOWEEN series… which is saying a lot! Now the big question is… well there be a HALLOWEEN 2 (or 10?) in the near future?
