RE:E is #1!

While the marketing campaign and all around coverage of RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION went off the deep end and into insanity last week, from new clips to new posters and everything in-between, it looks as though it paid off with flying colors, as it was number one at the box office this past weekend!

Not just number one, but it slaughtered the competition, with a cool $10M more than any other film released. Nice! Who knew Milla Jovovich and her quest for killing zombies would still be f*cking up the box office and everything else in it’s way… not bad for an R rated horror flick, not bad at all…

RE:E made more in it’s opening weekend than both RESIDENT EVIL ($17M) and RE: APOCALYPSE ($23M), so it’s safe to say that this will likely be the most successful of the series… and that this may not be the last we’ve heard of Umbrella Corporation and those pesky zombies. Check out the top 10 takers at the box office below, and head over this way to voice your opinion about whether RE:E was good… or not.

1. Resident Evil: Extinction $ 24 Million

2. Good Luck Chuck $ 14 Million

3. The Brave One $ 7.4 Million
4. 3:10 to Yuma $ 6.4 Million
5. Eastern Promises $ 5.7 Million

6. Sydney White $ 5.3 Million

7. Mr. Woodcock $ 4.9 Million
8. Superbad $ 3.1 Million
9. The Bourne Ultimatum $ 2.8 Million
10. Dragon Wars $ 2.5 Million
