Whenever I see the title KING OF THE HILL, I think of a bunch of Texans standing around an alley drinking beer and saying ‘yup’. But that all looks like it’s about to change, as The Weinstein Company just picked up the Spanish thriller KING OF THE HILL for wider distribution, and from what I’ve heard… this movie is pretty f*cked up! But you know… in a totally awesome way!

Making a big splash at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, HILL is directed by Gonzalo Lopez-Gallego (and is considered his break-through film), and is describe as

TWC scored the U.S. distribution to the film, which stars Leonardo Sbaraglia, though no date has been set for it’s release as of yet. As it was produced by Telecinco Cinema, who was also behind and the upcoming THE ORPHANAGE, I think TWC smells a hit on their hands… or at least one that will score a few awards in the process.
