French director Xavier Gens, who is premiering his freaky horror flick FRONTIERES this weekend in Toronto – and has his big-budget adaptation of HITMAN coming out in November – spilled his guts to Bloody Disgusting about his next project. And not unlike FRONTIERES, it’s about Cannibals!
“It’s an Historic movie about a shipwreck in the 18th century – where the survivor fall on an island inhabited by tribes of cannibals. It’s between Peter Jackson’s King Kong and Peter Weir’s “Master and Commander”.
Does anybody else think it’s cool that this madman somehow managed to bookend his Hollywood video-game movie with two horrific cannibal flicks?? Don’t know how he did it, but I’m excited to see some of this guy’s work!
FRONTIERES, for those of you unaware, sports this nutsoid plot description: While an extreme right-wing candidate advances to the second ballot of the presidential election, a group of young armed robbers holes up in a backwoods inn. The inn is located in an old mining wasteland, and its managers are a particularly sordid lot (to wit, (neo-)Nazi cannibals).
Fun for the whole family, you see… For the entire interview with Gens, click it HERE. And give a look to the badass trailer for FRONTIERES below!
