Wow, what a couple of days for
posters we’ve had!
Just yesterday we told ya’ll about
the poster for
30 DAYS OF NIGHT and earlier today we spoke
about Rob Zombie’s
HALLOWEEN poster. Well now we’ve completed the
Tri-force of Power with the poster from Will Smith’s post-apocalyptic I AM
LEGEND, and I must say that it disappoints me so.
Courtesy of the guys from
Coming Soon.net, the poster is, well, sort of
boring. We’ve all seen the image of Smith walking with his ‘European male carry
all” before, so I’m a little peeved that the studio didn’t release a new image
especially for the poster.
Based on the Richard Matheson story,
I AM LEGEND follows Robert Neville (Smith) as he attempts to cope with
the fact that everyone on Earth has turned into vampire-like creatures except
for himself. I’m excited to see what director Francis Lawrence has done with this
story. It’s been done a couple of times before (The terrible OMEGA MAN
and the wonderful THE LAST MAN ON EARTH) so it’ll be interesting to see
how it pans out this time around.
