Ebert fights back!

Love
him or hate him, agree or disagree with him, you can’t take away what film
critic Rogert Ebert has accomplished
over the years within the field that is film journalism. I still remember
being so freaking excited when the lad quoted me in his Jeepers Creepers
2 review
… and I actually disagree with most  of his reviews! That
says a lot…

As you might know Mr. Ebert has been battling big, bad cancer of the
salivary gland for a while now and the last procedures left him temporarily
disfigured. And how is Ebert dealing with that? I quote:

“I have received a lot of advice that I should
not attend the festival (his Ninth Annual Overlooked Film Festival). I’m
told that paparazzi will take unflattering pictures, people will be unkind,
etc. Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn. As a journalist I can take it as
well as dish it out.”

“I was told photos of me in this condition would
attract the gossip papers. So what? I have been very sick, am getting better
and this is how it looks. I still have my brain and my typing fingers. ”

So I just wanted to take the time to send out my well wishes to Mr.
Ebert. Even though I don’t agree with his reviews for the most part (namely
his horror reviews and his Universal Soldier review), I still esteem the
man. Strength when pitted against such dire adversity has to be
respected…well by me anyways.

Keep fighting Roger, I didn’t
hear no bell!
