This hasn’t happened to me in a while but for some reason today I found
myself mucho jazzed for the impending summer movie season. There’s just lots of fun shite
coming out this summer! So I felt inspired (the booze helped) and decided to pick my
Top 10 Most Anticipated Summer Movies of 2007
(not just out of the horror genre, but out of everything). So here
are the celluloid treats that I can’t wait to see! Feel free to share with us your Top 10 Summer
"must tap" Summer Movies of 2007 via spitting some armor piercing bullets below!
Here we go!

1- THE TRANSFORMERS

WHY: Cause I love the cartoons, worship the animated feature and
feel that Michael Bay is the ideal director for the job. The man is all
about visual panache and knows how to blow shit up real good; two things a
live Transformers adaptation needs! Moreover, the fact that he’s playing the
film "straight" as opposed to taking the easy way (playing it campy) has me
mucho pumped! CAN’T WAIT! NOTE: I don’t give a shit if Optimus Prime
has a mouth.

2- SPIDERMAN 3

WHY: In my pointless opinion; both Spiderman
films are way up there quality wise in terms of comic book to screen
adaptations. Spiderman 3 looks no different and seems to be the darkest of
the 3 which is always good times in my book. And of course VENOM is in the
house and from what I’ve seen thus far, he looks Aces! BRING IT!

3- SUNSHINE

WHY: I’ve boogied to pretty much everything
Danny Boyle has done (yes…even The Beach) and enjoy Alex Garland’s writing
for the most part. All around solid and intelligent SciFi  is always
hard to come by and this one looks like it might deliver in those
departments.

4- LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD

WHY: The two first Die Hard films are on my "fav action films" list.
Part 3 let me down but this installment seems like it could rectify that. Yes,
the overuse of CGI bothers me a tad and Willis should’ve worn a wife beater and a
wig so he’d look like John McLane NOT Bruce Willis being Bruce Willis. But with
that spat, the trailer promises an action packed  ride that also attempts
to capture the charm that the first two films proudly wore on their blood
stained sleeves. I’m all for it!

5- THE INVASION

NOTE: There’s no trailer for the film yet – here’s some
on set footage.

WHY: The Body Snatchers premise simply gets to
me. Be it in the original, the 70’s remake or the later remake, there’s just
something about being duplicated by alien pods that gives me the uber
willies. I hope for the same swell joo-joo from this one! The fact that it
has  Craig" great man" Daniels and Nicole "classy
" Kidman in the lead also helps! I’m there!

6– HALLOWEEN

WHY: Did I need a Halloween remake? NO! Do I
crave seeing Michael Myers brutally f"ck people up in a actual GOOD film
again? YES! Nough said, any questions?

7- RESIDENT EVIL EXTINCTION

WHY: I’m in the minority (again) but I loved the
original film, didn’t think much of the sequel but feel that this one might
rectify the damage Part 2 did . The Mad Max-ish type of setting,
Highlander’s Russell Mulchahy behind a big film again and sexy
Mila once more whooping ass has my dial cranked to F*CK YEAH!

8- HOSTEL II

WHY: Cause I tripped to the original and I dig on Roth’s ballsy
attitude when it comes to his films: gory, un-PC, smut filled and funny.
Furthermore, I hope that Hostel 2 will finally put the torture subgenre to rest
by being the best of the bunch. I’m personally sick of it.

9- THE SIMPSONS THE MOVIE

WHY: The majority opinion out there seems to be
"The Simpsons are played out". But being that I started watching the show
really late in the game; I still have a zest for it! I so idolize Homer
Simpson , he always brings a smile on my face and I can’t wait to witness
his first big screen adventure…drunk! RELEASE THE HOUNDS!

10- THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM

WHY: That’s an easy one! Cause The first two
Bourne films OWNED ME via their engaging plot lines, zany fight sequences and pulse
pounding action bits, I expect the same from this one. The film will also keep me sane until the
next Bond flick is released.

BRING ON SUMMER BABY!
I’M IN!
