MICHAEL COLTON has a few aces up his sleeve and he’s using them on
his new film
SNUFFED. The Brian James O’Connell directed chiller is about a serial killer who makes snuff films for the rich
and bratty (Paris Hilton?) in Los
Angeles. The loony who’s known by the alias of Ben, contacts a
journalist to
share his kill-kill-kill tale with the world.
Now, the
thing about this particular flick that sets it apart from the norm
is the
way it was the shot. Brian James O’Connell shot it on a disposal digital camera, one
that you can buy at any Pharmacy for 35 beans. You see they jerry rigged the
camera to shoot 24p and then built a fire wire port so they didn’t have to take the film
in to be developed. They used about 5 of these cameras to shoot the majority the
picture.
We’ll find out if going
on the cheap was a good idea or a bad one when the flick
will most likely debut at the
2007 Sundance Film Festival in January. More Snuffed new when we get
some!
