As you know the
BLACK CHRISTMAS remake (cleverly named
BLACK X-MAS…I guess Black X-Maz was taken) will soon be upon us
(December 25). And although the new
TRAILER gave me semi hope that the flick
wouldn’t be half bad; I just got some weird news off a very trusted
source about the BULLSHIT going down behind the production and its
marketing. The hope that I had is now totally gone.
Here’s the 411: The production has had 3 (possibly 4) re-shoots
thus far. You see, creative and financial didn’t see eye to eye about
the film and at the end of the day the money dudes said step off its
our money we’ll do what we want. So don’t expect to see Glen Morgan’s
vision with this remake. Its the suits vision and we all know that their vision usually
BLOWS!
To make matters worse, one of the re-shoots had nothing to
do with the film, it was orchestrated SOLELY for the TRAILER. Go watch the
trailer again and remember this:
According to my source: The scene with
the guy wrapped in X-Mas lights being sucked into a machine NOT IN THE FILM
– The hand coming through the ice to grab a victim NOT
IN THE FILM – Person falling out the attic
wrapped in Christmas lights NOT IN THE FILM –
Billy threateningly glued to the ceiling like a spider NOT IN THE FILM.
Now I don’t
know if any of these scenes will wind up in the final cut (maybe they’ll
splice them in as dream sequences or something, you never know). What I do know is
that those bits were shot specifically for the trailer, shot to sell tickets
and were not in any of the disastrous Test Screenings that the film has had
so far. WTF! What kind of BS are these peeps trying to pull on us? Isn’t
that mis-advertising???
Did I hear any good things? Yes. The first 20 minutes are
supposed to be tight but then the flick loses its grasp on itself and winds
up all over the place while being un-intentionally funny. I was also told
that it was fairly gory with all kinds of eye gouging going on.
Back to bad news though, I finally got this tidbit of info having to do with the
killer and his/her identity. Its a HUGE SPOILER
so highlight it ONLY if you want to
know. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED:
Billy is not the killer the
character of Agnes (his daughter) is. Billy only shows up during the last
ten minutes of the film. Its Agnes’ “eye” in the eye scene within the
trailer. So there you have it! Money guys
being creative”, “kool
footage shot just for the trailer to swindle us into seeing the film and a
dumb ass tweak as to the killer that just doesn’t work on paper (for me anyways).
Yeah I can’t wait for remake #1, 456 069 i.e. Black X-Mas! I cant freaking
wait! Poor Glen Morgan who has to have his name stamped on that shite! Being that I can’t find a “real” pic of Michelle Trachtenberg’s showing cleavage. Lets stare at a Big Mac : ) Yum….
