As the sequel to 28 DAYS LATER is quickly gearing up, casting news galore is coming out of the woodwork. Last week we got word that Jeremy Renner had been cast in the lead, and today we have even more exciting casting news!
Harold Perrineau, known to most people as ‘Michael’ from TV’s LOST) has been cast in Fox Atomic’s 28 WEEKS LATER as an upbeat American Special Forces pilot who documents and leads to safety the families returning to London after the viral outbreak.
If I can read between the lines (and I can), I’d say that means Perrineau here will be zombified before half the movie’s over. Not that that’s a bad thing, as I think only the lucky ones get to play zombies, I’m just saying: you heard it here first.
The cast is shaping up to deliver us one kick ass ride, as I’m a HUGE fan of LOST, and know that ‘Michael’ here will do a stellar job. He does great at being scared, let’s just hope he does an equal job being militant and badass. 28 WEEKS LATER is scheduled to rip into theaters May 11, 2006.
