When we that the sequel to was in the works, I think I might have shat myself. The only downside of the project that I could see was that director Danny Boyle wasn’t coming back for a second round at the helm.

But with Juan Carlos Fresnadillo in the director’s chair, I had a pretty good feeling the project was going in the right direction. Today is reporting that Jeremy Renner, who played Jeffrey Dahmer in DAHMER, has been cast in the of 28 WEEKS LATER! The guy shares that same intense look that Cillian Murphy rocked so hard, and that alone makes this casting the perfect choice! He’s starred in a buttload of project (so this isn’t his first movie), and yet he’s still a relatively unknown actor (which is what they’re going for), so really, he’s the perfect choice!

Renner plays Sgt. Doyle, one of the Special Forces team sent into London to save the day from the quickly spreading ‘rage’ virus. We’ll keep you updated as to who the rest of the heroes are when they’re cast, and prepare for 28 WEEKS LATER sometime next year.
