iFMagazine snagged Penelope Ann Miller last week for a little chat about her part in Sam Raimi’s new supernatural thriller THE MESSENGERS.

Miller started off the interview talking about the usual, that the film being was directed by the Pang brothers, that it also stars John Corbett, Dylan McDermott and Kristen Stewart, and that it’s expected to hit in January. The next was how the Pang bros. treated the ghost in the film and the phenomenon as real as they possibly could.

“Our daughter has had trouble in the city, and we want to move her out of the city to get her away from the things that were troubling her,” Miller says. “”Of course, all hell breaks loose at our little farm. The Pang brothers directed it and they are twins and they are Chinese, and they are HUGE in Asia and Europe. They directed THE EYE, which they are also doing a new remake of that with Renee Zellweger, I think. They had very specific ideas at to what colors the ghost were, and what colors we should wear. They believe in ghosts whole-heartedly and to them everything is very specific as to how the ghost looks and how it is shot and used.”

Sounds like Raimi is going to have another hit on his hands. Hopefully we get more info on this, as the film is currently in post at the moment, and is slated for release January 17th, 2007.
