While I never saw Jeff Thomas’ rookie entry in 13 SECONDS, from what I’ve heard is that the guy put together a heck of a film with such a low budget. Granted, it was no EVIL DEAD, but Thomas didn’t have Bruce Campbell, now did he?
For his sophomore effort in FALLEN ANGELS, Thomas has recruited some big-name horror icons (as well as non-horror folk) that deserve a paragraph all their own: Michael “Worf” Dorn (‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’), Bill Moseley (THE DEVIL’S REJECTS), Adrianne Curry (MY FAIR BRADY), Kane “Jason” Hodder (JASON X), Christie Hemme (WWE Diva), Michael Berryman (THE HILLS HAVE EYES ’78), Davis Hess (LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT), Kevin McCarthy (INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS), Reggie “Where’s that butt-shot?” Bannister (PHANTASM) and R.A. Mihailoff (LEATHERFACE: TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE III) are all included in the film, which was filmed at the Ohio State Reformatory, which was the same location for THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION.
The actors aren’t the only big names involved in the film. Bob Keen (HELLRAISER) was on board to bring the creature features to life for the flick, which tells the tale of the demolition of a turn of the century prison, and the uncovering of a sub-basement structure that houses the 100 year old remains of several brutally slain children. However, this only leads to a more disturbing discovery that eventually unveils a legion of demons and their even more chilling origins.
