Fans of Showtime‘s MASTERS OF HORROR series can finally get ahold of two of the more infamous entries in the first season starting this August, courtesy of the good folks at Anchor Bay.

First up is Dario Argento’s entry, ‘Jenifer’ (and no, it’s not a typo), which is set for release on August 15th. If you remember when Argento was shooting, he garnered quite the buzz from the other directors over the cannibalism of a phallus. So much so that Showtime had the episode censored. But as we all know, anything goes on DVD! Featuring a 1.78:1 transfer with a Dolby Digital 5.1 track, extras include:

  • audio commentary with actor Steven Weber & producer Perry Martin
  • So Hideous My Love featurette
  • Working With a Master: Dario Argento featurette
  • Behind the Scenes: Making of Jenifer
  • Howard Berger and the Makeup of Jenifer
  • On Set: An Interview With Steven Weber
  • On Set: An Interview With Carrie Anne Fleming
  • Script to Screen
  • trailers
  • still gallery
  • original screenplay via DVD-ROM

Next up is Takashi Miike’s ‘Imprint’, which if you remember, was “too much” for Showtime and therefore wasn’t shown. Available September 26th, the DVD features a 1.78:1 anamorphic transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1, behind-the-scenes footage and featurettes, a still gallery, trailers and DVD-ROM material. Retail for each disc is $16.98.
