As our regular readers are well aware, we here at AITH pretty much view the remake of THE HITCHER as a puss-filled boil on the c*ck of the universe, but that doesn’t mean we have to hate on director Dave Meyers. A guy’s gotta work after all.
So I’m particularly pleased to note that his next project will be an original film scripted by Joe Ballarini. The pic is WITCH HUNTERS, and will be a “Pirates of the Caribbean”-type pic set in the world of witchcraft and black magic.
OK, so maybe original isn’t the best term, but it sounds like it could be a helluva lot of fun. Hopefully the good thing that will come from Meyers directing THE HITCHER remake is that he’ll bring an intense genre sensibility to WITCH HUNTERS, and give us all an adult rollercoaster ride.
We deserve one dammit! Now let’s move on to a witch I’d like to hunt. Gimme that ole’ black magic…
