We reported a while back that while Guillermo Del Toro’s HELLBOY sequel was all set to go, Sony decided to drop the producing of the film (which still hasn’t been explained).

Over the weekend at Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors, del Toro revealed that the film is now in the hands of Paramount. “We’re moving studios right now,” del Toro explains. “[Revolution Studios doesn’t] have a deal with Sony any more and we are looking for financing for HELLBOY 2. It’s at Paramount right now. It’s bigger in scale, but not necessarily in budget. Abe Sapien has a much bigger part, and we’re keeping closer to the mythology of the comics.”

Okay, so that’s cool. What’s weird is what del Toro said next with the revelation of what music would be in the film. “There is a song by Barry Manilow, and you’ll have to find out about how that fits in. I know you are all saying ‘what the f**k is that?!'” ‘What the f*ck is that, indeed.

HELLBOY 2: THE GOLDEN ARMY is set for release next year.
