Sideshow Collectibles once again has dipped into their licenses and produced another collectible based on HELLBOY. This time around it’s a faux-bronze bust of Big Red.
Sculpted by artist Matt Rose (make up FX artist and sculptor of the PREDATOR), this 1:1 scale bust was created during pre-production work on the film. The bust captured the style, attitude, and spirit of Hellboy, true to Mike Mignola’s vision, and served as the actual 3-D design study used to establish Ron Perlman as the red dude (along with helping to sell the film’s concept). In fact, if you have HELLBOY on DVD (if you don’t, why the hell not?), you can check out the original bust on disc 2, as well as in the book, Hellboy: The Art of the Movie.
The bust itself is cast in fiberglass and polystone and measuring over 20″ tall, and sits atop a red stone pillar display base complete with Matt Rose’s signature and the edition info. Speaking of edition, these busts are limited to 200 units, and will set you back $500. Care to spare some change? Click here and see that you do.
