Well it looks like the SCARY MOVIE franchise can safely be expected to bring another installment. The fouth entry opened this weekend at number one with 41 million in box office cash. That is an Easter weekend record.
In fact, the Weinstein’s are already prepping a 5th trip down horror spoof lane to hit over next Easter. Expect the PG-13 trend of the last two to continue, meaning that we’ll probably never again get a scene as classic as Anna Farris getting stuck to a ceiling with man juice.
Bummer. However, as long as these continue to come out and do well then it means our beloved genre is still hot enough to provide the kindling. Not a bad trade off.
