I saw Director John Fawcett’s genre follow up to Ginger Snaps,
the $12-million dollars budgeted
"THE DARK" (Based on the Simon Maginn novel
"Sheep,")
at the Sitges Film Festival last year.
Having loved the film, I was
anticipating its theatrical release this year… but bummer that never went down;
the film
was dumped on DVD instead (its now available).
So this little news item is a heads up to remind you of the film and to urge you to
catch it. The flick stars the talented Maria Bello & Sean Bean and
although flawed, it was still a superior horror film, specially when
taking into account the big screen crap that’s been shoveled our way
now of late.
See it for its mature aura, its stellar acting, it awe inspiring Isle of
Man setting and don’t forget to watch the "ALTERNATE ENDING" on the DVD, as
it works much better than the one in the final cut (in my pointless opinion of
course).
