Looks like WEDDING CRASHERS helmer David Dobkin wants to get his supernatural freak on. Variety reports that he’s landed R.I.P.D., a comic book adaptation from AEON FLUX scribes Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi.

While the project is being labled as a sci-fi comedy, the concept has plenty of horror potential: Premise of the comic was that a murdered cop was recruited to work in the Rest in Peace Dept., a ghost-busting police force (itself comprised of ghosts) that battles spirits unready to depart this world.

Whatever you stamp it as, the damn thing sounds like fun. Here’s hoping that Dobkins decides to bring the gorgeous (though slightly frightening) Isla Fisher back into play as a sexy, undead vixen. Or something like that.
