Well, it didn’t take long, but DavisDVD reports that Alex Aja’s THE HILLS HAVE EYES remake will be heading to DVD June 20, in *groan* R-rated and Unrated (‘The Version To Die For’) editions.
The theatrical R-rated version will be presented in both 2.35:1 anamorphic and fullscreen transfers, while the unrated cut will sport widescreen only. Extras for the DVD include an audio commentary with director Alexandre Aja, screenwriter Gregory Levasseur and producer Marianne Maddalena, a multipart behind-the-scenes documentary, a music video and trailers. Retail price for the DVD is $29.98, and at that price, it’d better be 2-discs or it’s another checkmark on my list of why FOX pisses me off.
Strangely enough, there’s no mention of the online production diaries that are on the film’s unofficial fansite being included in the DVD. Perhaps they’ll be in the documentary? If not, expect yet another double-dip (and another checkmark). No artwork yet, but as always, it’ll change.
