Hey kids, SAW II director Darren Bousman has been making the interview rounds in support of the DVD release, and different bits of info have started to wend their way toward the light. So keep your eye out for the full-fledged chat next week, but for now here are some interesting tidbits from the interview:

– SAW III is happening (no real scoop there 🙂 and Bousman, Wan, and Whannel are involved. Lionsgate is shooting for a Halloween release and the story is already set. They are all very intent on honoring producer Gregg Hoffman’s memory by delivering a movie that does the series proud.

– Bousman has over 100 hours of behind the scenes footage that he would love to cut together if Lionsgate ever does a re-release of SAW II on DVD. However, he has not heard anything about plans for that.

– Someone offered Bousman a children’s movie after SAW II came out. Not an action-adventure JUMANJI type thing, but a MY LITTLE PONY sort of gig.

– Producer Mario Kasar is a stand up guy.

– Bousman has actually heard the words, “You’ll never make it in Hollywood! Never!”

– The reason he’s listed as a honey wagon attendant on IMDB is … well you’ll just have to tune in next week for that. Gotta keep some mystery, eh?

Overall Darren Bousman seems like a guy who’s both grateful for his success, and has a plan mixed with the ambition to take advantage of the opportunities available to him now. Oh, and he’s got a new dog. That’s always a good sign.
