According to Variety today, Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures has locked up the film rights to Playstation 2 game SIREN. Which is a little weird, because as you can read here, there already appears to be a Japanese version of the film in the works.

Regardless, the English flick will focus on an American med school student searching for her missing sister in Japan. She begins her investigation in the remote mountain village of Hanuda, only to find herself trapped with an unspeakable evil that can no longer be contained.

Judging by Raimi’s recent track record, that unspeakable evil will probably be a PG-13 rating.
