Timur Bekmambetov, the mad genius behind Russian sci-fi epics NIGHT WATCH and DAY WATCH (actually I don’t know if he’s a mad genius, but it sounds niftier than the dude), has gotten his shot now at an English language project.
Universal has hired him to helm WANTED, a comic book adaptation that concerns a nebbishy white-collar worker who discovers his father is the world’s most evil supervillain. After his dad is murdered, the son is recruited into a covert org and trained to take up his father’s legacy.
Don’t get to see protagonists turned into villians very often so that sounds like fun. Plus how can you not want to check out a project that has the balls to use nebbishly in its description?
