Today we have a double-dose of DVD delicacies (say that five times fast!) courtesy of DavisDVD and DVDAnswers. First up is Dimension’s swamp monster VENOM which stars Agnes Bruckner, Jonathan Jackson, Meagan Good, Bijou Phillips, Laura Ramsey and Method Man. The film is centered around a group of teenagers trying to uncover the truth behind a friend’s mysterious death. What they discover is an evil force worse than they could have possibly imagined – and now they’re the ones running for their lives!
The disc will be available to own January 17th at around $29.99. As well as a 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer and English Dolby Digital 5.1 track, the disc will include a storyboard-to-film comparison of four scenes, a Voodoo Nightmare: The Making of Venom featurette, and some cast auditions. The artwork isn’t as cool as the poster was, but hey, I’m not marketing.
Next up is Sony’s attempt at making credible remakes with THE FOG, starring Smallville’s Tom Welling. This disk rolls into shelves January 24th and will set you back $28.95. As is the growing tradition (annoying as it is), look for the disc in separate Unrated 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen and PG-13 fullscreen editions, each with Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. No extras or artwork as of yet, so stay tuned as always.
